Description
The Strike 20 rotary evaporator from ChemTron combines advanced functionality with safety to provide the ideal instrument for the medium-range recovery of solvents in an industrial or laboratory environment. The Strike 20 is ideal for separating low-boiling volatile compounds from high-boiling volatile compounds.
Key safety features to protect end-users include:
- A safety shield over the evaporating flask and heating tank
- Vacuum-tight and corrosion-resistant seals without gaskets to prevent solvent leakage
- Over-temperature protection
- Soft start rotation
- Rupture disk on glassware
- Powered and electronically-monitored heating tank positioning system with safety release in case of power failure
The Strike 20 can be operated at ambient pressure or under vacuum. The vacuum tight seals provide a vacuum level of 5 mbar that reduces processing time as a result of a lower evaporating temperature of the fluid in the evaporating flask.
All functions of the Strike 20 are controlled through a touch screen display that provides real-time data on operating parameters such as pre-set and actual thermostatic bath temperature, vapour temperature, rotation speed and vacuum level. A timer allows the time to be set between 0 and 1000 minutes. At the end of a timing period the heating tank is automatically lowered, the evaporating flask is removed from the tank, and all functions automatically stop.
Heating is provided by a 33 litre capacity stainless steel heating tank with a built-in 3 kW heating coil. Solutions in the bath can be heated from ambient to 180°C with options for heating aqueous solutions (to 85°C) or oil.
The rotation speed for the Strike 20 can be set between 10 rpm and 150 rpm with a soft start feature incorporated into the instrument.
